How To Enable HDR For The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update On PC
The Witcher 3 Next-Gen update adds plenty of ray-tracing goodness and visual polish to the game, but what about HDR on PC?
There is no toggle to enable or disable HDR in The Witcher 3 on PC. Fortunately, you can still enable its use in the game quite easily. The HDR helps to improve the visuals even further making the colors pop out brightly and together with the new global illumination settings, it helps to make the game stand out the test of time.
Enable HDR For The Witcher 3 On PC
Since there is no toggle to enable HDR in the settings menu, you will need to head into your Windows settings menu. Once you are there, locate the Settings -> Display option and then go to the HDR section. Make sure the HDR is toggled on here especially if you are playing on a display that supports HDR like an OLED.
You can also enable Auto HDR which allows Windows to toggle HDR for games that don’t support it, but if you prefer to play the game as the developers had intended in the first place, it is best to leave it disabled.
Enable HDR For The Witcher 3 On PS5 or Xbox Series
The process is rather simple on consoles as there is a toggle for the HDR available there. Just go to the settings menu and find the HDR option from there. While the option was added with a post-launch patch, its implementation was rather mixed so it all depends on how well you like the new colors on your display.
