Honkai Star Rail characters are known for their elaborate costumes and abilities to help in combat. Each has its own Combat Types or Paths to help create the best teams possible. But deciding which characters to use can be tricky, especially with the new Honkai Star Rail characters being leaked recently. To help players new and old out, here is an overview of all Honkai Star Rail’s new characters, along with the others, to discover how many there are.
The Leaked Honkai: Star Rail Characters
Every Honkai: Star Rail character follows their own Path that determines their basic abilities and role that they best play in a team. For example, Abundance Path characters specialize in healing their teammates, while Harmony characters apply buffs, making both Paths great for attaining support characters. Meanwhile, The Hunt and Erudition Paths are all about dealing as much damage as possible by either single or multi-targeting enemies. However, the most recent leak may reveal a whole new Path to be added soon.

Despite the recent release of the new Remembrance Path, the new Path called Elation will also soon be released. There isn’t much information about the new Path just yet, but we already know about the new characters. In total, the leak showcases three new Elation characters that can be unlocked through the Path. These include Sparkle, a new version of the Penacony character, an Elation version of the Trailblazer, and an alleged new version of the Yae Sakura Honkai Impact character!
A New World?
To dig further into the leak, there have also been rumors of a new world to be added to the game. The Edo Star, in particular, is rumored to be in this world, offering Japanese aesthetics and elements to appreciate and explore. According to fans, this world was rumored in the past to be eventually featured in the game, so many are excited to see how this will turn out.
Honkai: Star Rail Character Existing Paths
Now that we’ve discussed the possible new characters coming to Honkai: Star Rail, we can talk about the other 71! As mentioned before, each character follows a specific Path that speaks to their abilities and specialties, giving players better choices and hints to how they should build their teams. We will go over each of the Paths and their characters so you can get to know the basics of each in the game!
The Destruction Path
The Destruction Path has a very fitting name for its characters. They admire recklessness, anger, and destructive behavior. This means that characters in this Path are gonna be your greatest damage dealers with the best defenses. Knowing this, these characters are essentially tanks on your team that are best fit for the front lines.
Some examples of characters along with their Combat Type on the Destruction Path are:
The Hunt Path
Next on the list is The Hunt Path. Characters in this Path value determination, ruthlessness, and tenacious behavior. Those in The Hunt Path specialize in dealing massive amounts of single-target damage. This means that these characters are strong at attacking one enemy at a time, which can be beneficial in sniping stronger enemies.
The Erudition Path
Now we get to the Erudition Path, which works as the opposite of The Hunt. Instead of targeting one enemy at a time, characters in this path will target multiple enemies. This makes these characters incredibly valuable for their AOE (Area of Effect) damage. The Path values thoughtful, logical, and strategic actions from its characters overall.
The Harmony Path
Now we get to the Paths that are a bit more fitted for support classes. In the Harmony Path, characters can apply buffs to their allies to improve their team’s combat abilities. The characters in this Path are known to be understanding, supportive, and value cooperative actions in team settings. With the right builds, these teammates can bring out the best in your team’s attackers and other supports.
The Nihility Path
With the Nihility Path, similar to how Erudition is the opposite of The Hunt, this Path is the opposite of the Harmony Path. Characters in this Path value slothful, exhausted, and meaningless actions, although don’t worry, their abilities aren’t useless. These guys will apply debuffs to the enemies your team encounters, which can provide a bit of help against stronger enemies.
The Preservation Path
Moving away from buffs and debuffs, we move to a more defensive class. Characters in the Preservation Path admire patience and sacrificial, and protective actions above all. This means that these characters focus more on defending their teammates, giving them strong defensive abilities to protect them.
The Abundance Path
The Abundance Path contains characters that are probably the most important to have on your teams. These characters value selfless, altruistic, and healing actions on the battlefield. They will specialize in healing their teammates or themselves to aid in the fight. Having at least one of these characters on your team can exponentially help against tough battles and adventures.
The Remembrance Path
Finally, there is the Remembrance Path. This is the newest Path to have been released to Honkai: Star Rail, so there aren’t many characters in it yet. This Path is very unique, as characters here can spawn Memosprites. These sprites can take on specific duties and roles in battle, often fighting alongside your team as extra little soldiers.
