It Takes Two developer Hazelight Studios’ next game is titled Split Fiction, and it is set for a March, 2025 release, based on a new report.

Well-known and reliable Dealabs insider billbil-kun has shared that Hazelight Studios, the studio behind the successful It Takes Two, will be launching its next game, titled Split Fiction, in exactly three months from now on March 6, 2025. According to them, the game is expected to be available on PC as well as consoles, though the exact list of consoles has yet to be revealed.

It takes two split fiction

According to the source, Split Fiction is set to be revealed later this month in December. Recently, Hazelight Studios founder Josef Fares had also stated that its next project will be revealed sometime soon. Given that The Game Awards 2024 is scheduled to happen on December 12, 2024, it certainly doesn’t take two to put two and two together and come to the conclusion that Split Fiction will be announced at the upcoming event. Fares has been a prominent figure at prior The Game Awards ceremonies, so this is a bit of a no-brainer.

Split Fiction is likely one of the major The Game Awards 2024 surprises that VGC’s Andy Robinson and The Verge’s Tom Warren have been teasing over social media. Robinson told his followers to “fire up the hype train”, while The Verge’s Tom Warren responded in agreement. A Twitter/X user responded to Robinson, asking whether his statement is a guess or a hint. In his response, Robinson said with certainty that it is not a guess. Both Robinson and Warren are likely hinting at some major game reveals that are set to happen at The Game Awards 2024. The event’s producer and host Geoff Keighley is known for his connections within the game industry, and it’s highly likely that he has secured some major world premieres for this year’s show.
