Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 HD Remix Comparison Proves Why Cloud Is The Worst Version
Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 HD Remix is available now for the Nintendo Switch, and it is a Cloud streamed version that doesn’t even work properly.
Square Enix is bringing all the Kingdom Hearts games to the Nintendo Switch but in the worst way possible. We are not talking about porting these games to Nintendo’s hybrid console, but only making them available to play through Cloud streaming. This was cute at first, but over time, as more publishers are starting to rely on it, this has gotten worse.
Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 HD Remix is the worst release so far when it comes to Cloud streaming. It continues to exhibit various issues ranging from lag that stops the gameplay mid-action to crashes that make you lose progress. The video that was made for fun by a fan serves as a good example of why local ports will always be better to Cloud streamed ones.
To play the game with Cloud streaming, you need to have the ideal network conditions which mean not using Wifi but a LAN cable, having fast internet with a stable connection, and so on.
All of this factors into your experience and it is evident with the video that if you playing the game with less than ideal experience including your distance to the servers, then your experience will be more frustrating than fun.
What makes this worse is that the collection costs a whopping $39.99. This is quite expensive compared to the PS4 release, which can be found for as low as $39.99 for almost every game in the series.
