Members of the original development team behind Rockstar Games’ action adventure game, LA Noire, are working on a new psychological thriller called Sowden House.

Australian composer Freyja Garbett took to Instagram to share that she is writing the music for an upcoming psychological thriller from the original creators of LA Noire called Sowden House. She added that the game is set in the 1940’s in the city of Los Angeles, and that it will have players questioning their sanity.

Garbett mentioned that this project has been “huge”, and that it is still unraveling and revealing itself to her. She said that she never thought she would be writing for a video game, and is grateful to the game’s producers for the opportunity. She shared a bunch of video clips and pictures from her recent recording session. According to her, this was the second recording session for Sowden House, and it featured the ‘jazz band’. She expressed that she had an an incredible experience working with a “killer” band of musicians.

While Garbett didn’t get into specifics regarding the development team, her mention of the original creators behind LA Noire suggests that Sowden House may be in development at Brendan Mcnamaras’ studio. He was the director of Rockstar’s action adventure game, and was, therefore, a key member of the original development team at Team Bondi.

For the uninitiated, L.A. Noire is a 2011 action adventure game developed by Team Bondi and published by Rockstar Games. It was originally released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows, and then later for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Set in 1947 Los Angeles, the game follows detective Cole Phelps as he rises through the ranks of the Los Angeles Police Department, solving various cases across different bureaus. Phelps’s personal and professional life becomes complicated when he investigates a morphine distribution ring involving his former World War II squadmates. He reluctantly teams up with his estranged comrade, Jack Kelso, to uncover a major conspiracy involving prominent Los Angeles figures.
