Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.49 Brings New Track, Cars & Updated Physics, Here Are The Patch Notes

Polyphony Digital is bringing a brand new track, 6 new cars, and updated physics to Gran Turismo 7 in update 1.49 in two weeks on July 25, 2024, and here are the patch notes.

The contents of the Gran Turismo 7 update 1.49 were revealed at the ‘Gran Turismo World Series 2024 Round 1 – Montreal’ event being held in Canada on July 6, 2024. These updates usually come with a few new cars, but the upcoming update is more significant, as it also brings a brand new track and updated physics, among other additions.

Check back here to find the full patch notes for update 1.49 of Gran Turismo 7 as they become available. For now, we’ve put together a tentative list based on the new track, cars and other features revealed via the ‘Gran Turismo World Series 2024 Round 1 – Montreal‘ event.

Main Features Implemented

1. Cars

The following new cars have been added:

  • Ferrari 430 Scuderia (2007)
  • BMW M3 (1997)
  • Lambroghini Gallardo LP 560-4 (2008)
  • Genesis Vision Gran Turismo
  • Subaru Impreza Rally Car (1998)
  • RUF RGT 4.2 (2016)

2. Track

The following tracks have been added:

  • Eiger Norwand (returning track from Gran Turismo 6)

3. Other New Features

Other new features added include:

  • New physics
  • New Rims and Michelin Tires
  • GT Sophy compatibility added for Nurburgring 24h, Lago Maggiore Full Track

GT7 was developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is the eighth chapter in the mainline Gran Turismo series. It was revealed during the PlayStation 5 reveal event on June 11, 2020, and was released on March 4, 2022 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, making it the series’ first multi-console entry.

The game uses the PS5’s improved processing capabilities, dedicated ray-tracing hardware, custom solid-state drive storage, Tempest Engine, and DualSense controller to support features like advanced haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, real-time ray tracing features during replays, 3D spatial audio, and faster loading times. Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 5 also has 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, as well as compatibility for high dynamic range.

One of the previous major updates added PSVR2 support to the game. It can be played in VR mode using both DualSense controller.
