Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available for both PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. Which version is the better one out of the two?
Now that the game is out for all major platforms, we finally have an idea of how well it runs on these consoles. Based on the technical analysis of both games, it appears that Xbox Series X has a clear advantage not just in performance but also in visuals.
There are two performance modes offered in the game. One is 30 FPS mode while the other is a 60 FPS mode. Both of these modes run at a dynamic 4K resolution on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, except the PS5 struggles to hit a higher resolution consistently compared to the Xbox Series X.
According to the technical analysis, the PS5 manages to average out at 1980p resolution in the 30 FPS mode compared to the 4K resolution for the Xbox Series X. In the 60 FPS mode, the PS5 is at a bigger disadvantage as the game drops down below 1440p in this mode compared to the 1800p on the Xbox Series X.
Xbox Series S also supports both 30 and 60 FPS modes, but they run at a dynamic resolution below 1260p most of the game. There is no 4K resolution support aside from that on the Xbox Series S.
The loading is also faster on the Xbox Series and PC compared to the PS5. It just feels like the game was not given as much attention on the PS5 compared to Xbox and PC. It could also be a lack of timing as the developers couldn’t optimize the game on so many different platforms.
