Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth Main Story Length Revealed, No Plans For Game Pass Release

The main story length in Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s upcoming role-playing game, Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, has been revealed.

Speaking during an interview, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio Director Masayoshi Yokoyama offered a rather vague idea about the length of the main story in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. According to him, if players want to clear only the main story, it would take about 3 to 4 days without sleep. This means no sleep, no detours, and almost no side stories. If it is indeed accurate, the duration would come in at around 72 to 96 hours of playtime just for the main story.

Yokoyama recommended that Yakuza fans should not marathon the game without sleep, and should instead enjoy the game bit by bit.

In response to a question regarding the possible arrival of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth to Xbox Game Pass, Yokoyama stated that there are currently no such plans. He mentioned that, in the case of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, he saw Xbox Game Pass as a way of “handing overseas players his “business card”.

In other words, letting players new to the series enjoy the game and get to know Kiryu was Yokoyama’s objective with the decision to put Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name on Xbox Game Pass. As such, he said that Microsoft’s subscription service proved to be a very good method to invite new users to interact with the series. He mentioned that he fully understands the reasoning behind Larian Studios’ decision to not put Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox Game Pass. According to him, each title has its own goals and befitting ways of being offered to players.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is set for release on January 26, 2024, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, and Steam (PC).
