Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Will Feature An “Uncensored” Costume

Dragami Games’ upcoming remake of 2012’s Lollipop Chainsaw, titled Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, is said to feature a new “uncensored” costume.

According to Producer, Yoshimi Yasuda, the development team will include an “uncensored” costume for the game’s protagonist, Juliet, in the upcoming Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP to “meet expectations”. What those expectations are is anyone’s guess, but the term “uncensored” seems to suggest that it will be something for mature audiences in the name of ‘fan service’.

Yasuda mentioned that the team at Dragami Games is working diligently on Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, but it will need some additional time. He added that him and his team will continue to do their best to create a game that everyone will appreciate, and he sought the continued support of fans.

The original Lollipop Chainsaw is a 2012 hack and slash game developed by Grasshopper Manufacture for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 video game consoles.It focuses on Juliet Starling, a cheerleader who hunts zombies in a fictional California high school (voiced by Tara Strong in English, Eri Kitamura in the PlayStation 3 version, and Yoko Hikasa in the Xbox version in Japanese). The game was a collaboration between director James Gunn and game designer Suda51. It was originally published and released in 2012 by Kadokawa in Japan and by Warner Bros. in all other regions.

In the hack and slash game, players take on the role of Juliet as she battles through hordes of zombies. With her chainsaw, she can perform high and low attacks, dodges, and melee attacks. Zombies can be attacked until they become groggy, at which point a chainsaw attack will instantly kill them. By eliminating zombies, destroying objects, and saving classmates, players can earn gold medals.

In July, 2022, it was announced by Kadokawa Games’ successor Dragami Games that a Lollipop Chainsaw remake would be released some time in 2023.
