Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026, bringing Eidos-Montréal’s action adventure to Nintendo’s new hardware with exclusive outfits and additional control options. The game will be priced at $39.99.
The Encore Edition includes the complete base game along with all previously released digital content. It also adds five new outfits for the Guardians, each inspired by the glam rock aesthetic of the 1980s. These costumes are exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
The new release also takes advantage of the console’s unique control features. Players can use the built-in mouse functionality for navigating menus and aiming, while gyroscope support allows motion controls during specific gameplay sequences.
Gyroscope controls can be used to guide the Milano through space and control Peter Quill during sliding sections and zero gravity sequences. The game will support TV, Tabletop and Handheld modes.
In Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Encore Edition, players take control of Star-Lord and lead the Guardians through combat, exploration and conversations across the cosmos. The game features five playable Guardians, along with a selection of new characters, villains and locations encountered throughout the campaign.
The Switch 2 release also includes 50 outfits that players can use throughout the game, combining the new exclusive costumes with the game’s existing wardrobe. The adventure is accompanied by a soundtrack featuring more than 30 classic songs from the 1980s.
Eidos-Montréal is handling development of the Switch 2 version internally. Studio Creative Director Jean-François Dugas said the Encore Edition was created as another opportunity for players to experience the five Guardians, while Associate Producer Inès Bruckner explained that the team wanted the game to work naturally in both television and handheld play.
Marvel Games Executive Producer Eric Monacelli also described the release as an opportunity to bring the game’s story to a new audience on Nintendo Switch 2.
