Specifically, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 had sold over 10 million copies at the time. With the game’s arrival on PC next month, its sales are expected to receive an additional boost.
Among the spell of leaks involving Insomniac Games’ future titles were presentation slides indicating that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has a massive budget of $300 million, and, therefore, needed sales of 7.2 million copies at full price in order to break even. The game had comfortably surpassed that figure as of February 4, 2024.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s story revolves around Peter Parker and Miles Morales, as they grapple with personal challenges while confronting new threats, such as Kraven the Hunter’s private militia turning New York City into a hunting ground for super-powered individuals and the Venom symbiote, an extraterrestrial entity that negatively influences Parker and jeopardizes his relationships. It enhances their traversal and combat abilities, introducing new web based gadgets and unlockable suits tied to the story’s progression.
