Konami’s upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3 remake offers a massive graphical leap, as shown in the latest comparison footage here.
Twitter user MGSMGN (via) has shared a comparison between the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and its forthcoming remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, based on screenshots that were revealed by Konami after the latter’s announcement. As one would expect from a remake that will see the light of day around 20 years after the release of the original, the difference in graphical quality is massive, with environmental assets and character models all done from scratch.
Metal Gear Solid Delta vs Metal Gear Solid 3 Graphical Comparison
The aforementioned screenshot comparison between Metal Gear Solid Delta and the original Metal Gear Solid 3 can be seen below.
As the Twitter user correctly pointed out, it will be tough for the development team to please all fans, as some will want a re-imagined take, where creative liberties are taken with the source material, while others will want nothing other than a graphical upgrade with Quality of Life changes and a largely faithful recreation of the original that is along the lines of Bluepoint Games’ Demon’s Souls remake.
Previously, the development team working on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was revealed. A spokesperson from Konami had clarified that, in addition to Konami’s development team that is involved in the development of the Metal Gear series, the game is fully supported by developer Virtuous, which has been cooperating with the development of past Metal Gear titles. Based on this statement, it appears that the game is being co-developed by Konami’s internal development team as well as Virtuous. In its official message, the development team for both MGS Delta: Snake Eater and MGS: Master Collection thanked fans for their continued support. It stated that it is excited to be working on the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, a beloved chapter in the Metal Gear series.
