A new datamine of Capcom’s action role-playing game, Monster Hunter Wilds, has reveled further evidence on a Nintendo Switch 2 port.
Famiboards member Kysen has reported that a Chinese datamining group that has been examining internal data from the PC version of Monster Hunter Wilds, adding further credibility to ongoing rumors regarding the game being in development for the Nintendo Switch 2. The evidence comes from an in-game menu screenshot, which appears to reference local multiplayer functionality specifically for Nintendo’s console.
The datamining group not only uncovered this menu but also managed to access graphics presets explicitly labeled for the Switch 2. These presets suggest a 30 frames-per-second target when running in a DLSS-enabled mode, implying the use of NVIDIA upscaling technology as was previously rumored. When searching for “Switch,” the group reportedly found clear references to local wireless multiplayer designed around the Switch 2 ecosystem. One string reads, “Bring Nintendo Switch 2 consoles together to create or join a lobby using local wireless communication,” while another mentions that up to four players can participate via local wireless play.

The dataminers reportedly loaded the Nintendo Switch 2 graphics presets on a PC for testing purposes, noting that this does not reflect final performance. Based on their observations, the docked Graphics Mode preset runs at 1080p, and its shadow quality exceeds the PC version’s “Very Low” setting. While modest by high-end PC standards, this indicates visual quality that’s closer to expectations from a modern console.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Monster Hunter Wilds appears to have its own DLSS presets D-I, rather than presets A-C. Additionally, the Switch 2 version seems to cull NPCs slightly differently, as the distance it triggers at appears to have been cut in half. It also seems to always cull for most NPCs.

Monster Hunter Wilds is an action role-playing game developed and published by Capcom using the RE Engine. The title launched globally on February 28, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, and supports cross-platform play.
