Moon Sweepers Update 1.0.5 introduces several improvements to the building system, allowing players to construct pieces directly on dusty ground, build around foundations, and move existing structures without paying to place them again. Removing pieces now refunds their full cost, while machines can snap neatly into position on foundations.
The update also improves J.O.O.N.A.S. capsule delivery, adds new settings and public game warnings, and fixes a freeze that affected some worlds shortly after loading. Other changes address capsule packing, input problems, memory leaks, and stutters in large bases.
Moon Sweepers Update 1.0.5 Patch Notes
Building Improvements
- Build Anywhere: All building pieces can now be placed on dusty ground. The dust underneath is pressed flat during construction, removing the need to clean the area first.
- Build On, Under and Beside Foundations: Players can aim at the top, underside, or side of a foundation to build in those positions. Pieces can also extend beyond foundation edges into the air.
- Move Mode: Press R while using the building tool to pick up a piece along with everything built on it, then place it elsewhere for free. Belts at its ports follow where they can reach.
- Right-click returns a piece to its original position, X switches to remove mode, and R or Esc exits Move Mode. On a controller, press Y from remove mode.
- Full Refunds: Removing a building piece now refunds its full cost instead of 75%.
- Copy Rotation and Style: Middle-clicking a piece to pick it up now copies its rotation and style.
- Machines Snap to Foundations: The Stone Press and other machines now align with the targeted foundation, sitting square to it, flush with its edges, or centred on it. Other positions follow a 0.5-metre grid.
- The mouse wheel rotates machines in 90-degree increments, or 30 degrees on hexagonal foundations. Press F to place machines freely as before.
New Options and Quality-of-Life Changes
- Public Game Warning: Starting a public game or switching a crew to public now prompts players with a warning explaining what other players can do to their Moon and how to kick or ban them through the ESC menu under YOUR CREW.
- Chat Voice Slider: A new Chat voice slider is available under Settings > Audio for text-to-speech chat.
- Vehicle Camera: A new option under Settings > Controls lets players disable the vehicle camera’s automatic repositioning behind the vehicle.
- Garage Silo Status: Garages now explain why their silos aren’t sending dust out, with messages such as “Connect a conveyor belt to its outfeed”.
J.O.O.N.A.S. Changes
- Smarter Capsule Delivery: J.O.O.N.A.S. now sends each capsule towards the emptiest capsule catcher in the nearest group. Catchers within 100 metres of each other count as a group.
- When every catcher in a group is more than 80% full, capsules are sent to the next group.
- Fixed an issue where hexes cleaned far away from players could remain at 99.9% completion without finishing or paying out.
- Fixed an issue where J.O.O.N.A.S. left a permanent spot where players couldn’t build.
Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements
- Fixed a game freeze that could occur around 30 seconds after loading certain worlds. The issue affected both DirectX 11 and DirectX 12.
- Increased Capsule Limit: Capsules lying on the ground are no longer restricted to 10,000. A world can now hold up to 90,000 capsules in total.
- Fixed capsule packing problems in large bases with many capsules on conveyor belts. Q, the Auto-Packer, and machines can now pack capsules again.
- Fixed an issue where the player could run forward automatically and keyboard and mouse inputs could be ignored when a controller, joystick, wheel, or pedals were resting off-centre.
- Fixed sectors showing 0% cleaned despite having no dust remaining. These sectors are now checked when a world loads, and completed sectors are finished and paid out.
- The map no longer displays 0% for sectors that haven’t been measured yet.
- Fixed an issue where a crewmate teleporting to another station could launch the player beneath them off the map.
- Fixed an issue that prevented rows of Stone Presses and other machines from being placed on foundations, displaying the message “Keep the whole base on a flat foundation top”.
- Fixed air hockey tables at the South, East, and West stations displaying an extra “0 – 0” score.
- Reduced garbage collection stutters in large bases.
- Fixed memory leaks that occurred after leaving a world and removing structures.
Players who encounter further bugs can report them through the game’s Discord server.
