Contrary to the linear, story driven titles developed by Naughty Dog, the studio’s next game will apparently offer a lot of “player freedom”, based on the latest report.
During the latest episode of the MinnMax Show on YouTube, host Ben Hanson mentioned hearing a few things about the next game from Naughty Dog, including comparison to “a game with a lot of player freedom”.
Hanson heard from somebody very in the know who worked on the next Naughty Dog game that people are not ready for how amazing it is going to be. He also mentioned that the game that were referenced as a point of comparison to Naughty Dog’s title has a lot of player freedom.
MinnMax refrained from mentioning the name of the game Naughty Dog’s next title was compared to by his source, and for good reason. It’s best to create any kind of preconceived notions in the minds of fans and let them judge the Uncharted and The Last of Us developer’s new game on its own merits once it has been revealed. We look forward to that whenever that may happen. For now, all we can do is speculate about the kind of player freedom that it may offer, especially in comparison to the studio’s previous work.
Earlier this year, during an interview with YouTuber Logically Speaking, Naughty Dog president and game director, Neil Druckmann, had shared that the studio’s next game is really ambitious. He added that parts of the game are really hard to work on. However, he said that he has surrendered to knowing that it is going to be really hard and to knowing that it is going to be stressful for members of the development team. Despite the stressful nature of the game’s development, Druckmann stated that he wants to make it a joyful experience for himself and everybody else on the team.
