NBA 2K22 Is Crashing On Xbox Series Consoles, Microsoft Working On a Fix

Microsoft has confirmed that they are working on a fix for the NBA 2K22 launch issue that leads to the game crashing or the console shutting off.

People are talking about this issue on social media sites like Twitter and Reddit. The game is crashing on Xbox Series and can lead to loss of progress due to this issue. In some rare circumstances, it can also lead to the Xbox Series turning itself off.

On the support website, Microsoft has explained this issue and clarified that they will try to fix it as soon as possible.

  • The game may crash to the dashboard from the main menu on Xbox Series X|S consoles
    • Once the game has loaded and the main menu appears, attempting to press Start may result in the game crashing to the dashboard. This has only been reported on Xbox Series X|S consoles so far, and doesn’t appear to be impacting Xbox One consoles.
    • The team are actively investigating this and working on a fix, so please watch this space for any additional updates.

There doesn’t appear to be a patch that has resolved this issue, but it is possible that one might be deployed soon. You can expect to see this happening sometime next week.

As it stands, the game has this issue on Xbox Series but we are not sure if this is being reported on the other consoles.

NBA 2K22 is available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
