NBA 2K27 will run at 60 FPS on Nintendo Switch 2 in Performance mode, Visual Concepts has confirmed. The developer revealed the information through a Q&A shared on the game’s Discord servers, confirming that the performance target applies in both docked and handheld modes.

When asked whether NBA 2K27 runs at 60 FPS on Nintendo Switch 2, the Visual Concepts development team responded, “Yes – NBA 2K27 runs at 60 FPS on Switch 2, in Performance mode. That means the same smooth, responsive feel you get on every other platform, whether you’re docked or in handheld.”

The developer also confirmed that players will be able to experience the performance mode when NBA 2K27 launches on September 4, 2026.

NBA 2K27 is launching worldwide on September 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. The new entry drops support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, making it a current-generation-only release.

Players purchasing the Deluxe or Ultra Editions will receive seven days of early access beginning August 28. However, the Nintendo Switch 2 version is limited to the Standard Edition.

The confirmation of a dedicated 60 FPS Performance mode represents a significant change for NBA 2K on Nintendo hardware. Previous entries on the original Nintendo Switch were subject to substantial technical compromises, while NBA 2K27 is being built specifically for Switch 2 hardware.

The new Nintendo version will therefore offer a 60 FPS option in both handheld and docked play when NBA 2K27 launches next month.
