Brand new details regarding the latest entry in the Forza Motorsport series have been detailed, and a comparison with earlier games has been revealed.
Fans on the Forza subreddit have come up with a new comparison that shows how the series has evolved in terms of visuals since Forza Motorsport 4. In addition, during the January 2023 edition of Forza Monthly, Forza Motorsport creative director Chris Esaki shared some new details regarding the latest entry in the series.
New Forza Motorsport Details
Esaki revealed a bunch of new details regarding the upcoming Forza Motorsport game. For starters, he mentioned that the game will give players the flexibility of being able to play short 24 hours endurance races that can be completed in, say, 24 mins. He also mentioned that the physics system has been completely reworked. Prior games had a single point of contact per tire that updated at 60Hz, but the new Forza Motorsport will feature 8 points of contact per tire that update at 360Hz. He pointed out how the game offers a huge leap in the tire model fidelity, and it’s core of the gameplay experience.
Additionally, Esaki mentioned that the game supports different racing tire compounds, including soft, medium, and hard etc. The game also features completely rebuilt suspension and weight modeling, including the fuel, and also supports balance adjustments. Braking has also been completely re-done, and pretty much everything that affects vehicle dynamics has been rebuilt from scratch.
The new Forza Motorsport has also been fine-tuned to be more welcoming to newcomers, and Esaki stated that the game is more rewarding to drive. He also said that the AI has been completely rebuilt. Turn 10 Studios will be sharing more details in this regard as well as more on career, multiplayer, cars & track lists in the near future.
