At Least One New Halo Game Is Allegedly Set For Release On PlayStation, May Include A Beta

At least one new title in the Halo series is set for release on PlayStation consoles, and it may include a multiplayer beta, as per a new rumor.

In his latest video on his YouTube channel, content creator Rebs Gaming shared some insight into a recent report by dataminer Grunt API regarding a new Halo game being set for release on PlayStation consoles “very soon”. The latter’s track record includes correctly revealing Halo Infinite’s surprise multiplayer launch date back in November, 2021, and providing details on the rumored multiplayer project, Project Eker.

Grunt API had found that a new Halo title listed in the Xbox API indicated PlayStation compatibility. The game is also linked to PlayFab, Microsoft’s backend service that supports cross-platform progression, matchmaking, and other multiplayer functions. While PlayFab may be used for campaign features, it is primarily associated with online multiplayer.

The aforementioned API also contains a beta title tied to this new PlayStation-compatible Halo project. While its exact purpose is unclear, Grunt API speculated that it could be related to Project Eker. A second Halo title with PlayStation compatibility is also listed, though not much is known about it at this point in time. Grunt API believes that these are either two new Halo games or the first title is a beta for Project Eker and the second title is the full game.

If the information proves correct, October’s Halo World Championship could be a big moment for the franchise, potentially revealing Project Eker alongside a beta announcement.
