Next Battlefield 6 Update Addresses Weapon Disappearance Bug, More Fixes Planned

by Salal Awan

Battlefield Studios is preparing a new update for Battlefield 6 that fixes a variety of gameplay problems players have reported over the last few weeks. The most important confirmed fix addresses a bug that made weapons disappear when a player switched at the exact end of a drag and revive. According to the studio’s Principal Game Designer, Florian “DRUNKKZ3” Le Bihan, this specific issue has been handled and will be in the next patch. However, other long-standing glitches, like the infamous ladder bounce issue, will need more time before they are ready for deployment.

The studio has been answering many technical questions from the community on social media, clarifying which fixes are ready to ship and which are still being worked on. When asked about a thermal sight bug related to certain squad interactions, Le Bihan stated, “Fixed next patch.” He gave the same answer when directly questioned about the vanishing weapon problem during normal play, saying, “Fixed next patch, happens when you switch weapon at the end of a drag and revive.” He also confirmed that the annoying mid-air lift caused by colliding with terrain will be resolved, noting, “Will be fixed next patch.”

Other community requests have been acknowledged but will not make it into the immediate update. When asked if the notorious ladder super bounce would be addressed, Le Bihan responded, “No unfortunately the ladder bounce will not be fixed in this patch but being worked on.” A separate revive glitch, which leaves players stuck in a crouch with limited weapon control, is also slated for the update after the next one, with Le Bihan stating, “Yep, will be fixed next update.”

Beyond bug fixes, the developers are also making quality-of-life improvements. Players have frequently asked for more options to customize weapon optics, and Le Bihan confirmed this feature is moving forward, saying, “Being worked on.” He also put keybinding changes on his review list after getting feedback that the revive and kit switch actions interfere with one another. Movement, aim sway, and recoil are also still being scrutinized, with the developer confirming that the team is watching both spread and recoil trends. Le Bihan commented, “Were monitoring both,” and later added, “I believe so but I also know how much it changes, were keeping an eye on the data.”

Network issues continue to be a concern for the community, specifically players dying behind cover and inconsistent hit registration. In reply to a comment that these problems should be a top priority, Le Bihan stated, “Its being worked on.” Meanwhile, the game’s lighting and visibility problems are also receiving attention. When asked if the adjustments made so far were sufficient, he replied, “More is being worked on, there is more to do indeed.”

Battlefield 6 is also getting revisions to its controller settings. Improvements for Sony controller deadzones are planned for the upcoming update, which Le Bihan confirmed by saying, “In the upcoming update,” and then again, “Next update.” Lead Producer David Sirland also commented on matchmaking difficulties, remarking, “I am certain there are issues with matchmaking that we do not track already,” and noting that additional player details help the team isolate the problems.

Released on October 10, 2025, Battlefield 6 brought the series back to its focus on large-scale combat through class-based systems, destructive environments, and core modes like Conquest and Breakthrough. The game includes a full campaign, the community-driven Portal editor, and RedSec, a free-to-play battle royale mode that launched shortly after the initial release. With continuous updates being rolled out, the studio appears dedicated to refining the experience as the player base points out areas that need attention.
