The compatibility site features a straightforward search function where users can look up any title to verify whether it runs properly on the Switch 2. Each entry includes a detailed compatibility label. For instance, Super Mario Galaxy displays the message, “Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch,” confirming that it operates without performance or feature issues. This resource aims to eliminate uncertainty surrounding backward compatibility as the new system continues to expand its player base.
Launched in June 2025, the Nintendo Switch 2 was designed to maintain near-universal support for the original Switch’s extensive library. Both physical cartridges and digital purchases made through the Nintendo eShop can be accessed on the new console via account transfer. Nintendo achieved this compatibility through a hybrid of software and partial hardware integration, allowing older titles to benefit from the upgraded internals.
