According to Nintendo, the hardware that Genki promoted as a mockup of the unannounced Switch successor at CES 2025 is “unofficial”. It further clarified that no mockup was provided to the accessories manufacturer by the console maker.

Meanwhile, in an interview with GameSpark, Genki also chose to distance itself from its earlier stance. The accessories manufacturer now claims that the Nintendo Switch 2 mockup it exhibited at CES 2025 was planned and produced based on leaked information from within the industry. It further clarified that the size of the official product has not yet been shared by Nintendo. It was also mentioned that Genki has not had any sort of access to the actual console.

An alleged mockup of the Nintendo Switch 2 and some of its accessories was recently revealed by gaming accessories manufacturer Genki at CES 2025 as well as on its official website. The company had claimed that the unannounced console will launch in April, 2025. The accessories manufacturer had also provided a glimpse of the Joy-Con 2 controllers, highlighting the oft-rumored optical sensor. However, it admitted to not having tested any games using the technology. The mysterious “C button” on the right Joy-Con remains another unexplained feature. As for the console mockup itself, it is visibly larger than its predecessor, and features magnetic Joy-Con connectors with a release button mechanism for a more sturdy grip. Additionally, the alleged mockup features a second USB-C port at the top of the console. Joy-Con 2 controllers with colored joysticks were also displayed, though Genki did not allow them to be photographed.
