The box art for Nintendo Switch 2 titles looks less appealing compared to that of the original’s, though the size of game cases remains similar.
Twitter/X user Genki_JPN has shared a bunch of screenshots comparing the game cases of the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 titles. Based on these comparisons, we find that while Nintendo Switch 2 game cases are similar in size to those of the original, their box art looks less appealing. Read ahead to find out if you agree.

As seen above, game cases for Nintendo Switch 2 titles feature a prominent red border at the top that highlights the upcoming console’s logo. In our view, this makes the cover art less appealing compared to non-intrusive look of the box art for original Switch titles. That said, this is more of a personal preference, and we’ll let our readers decide for themselves.

Besides the obvious difference in color, the plastic seen on Nintendo Switch 2 game cases is only slightly clear instead of being totally clear like on original Switch game cases. Everything else looks identical.
