The logo design of the Nintendo Switch successor, dubbed Switch 2, has been leaked via an alleged accessories listing at an online retailer.
Chinese online retailer Alibaba has added store listings for multiple Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, apparently revealing the unannounced console’s logo in the process. The aforementioned listings are for a carrying case and a screen protector.
The carrying case for the Nintendo Switch 2 is available in two colors, namely black and grey. It weighs in at 0.3 kg, and comes with storage space for game cartridges, joy-cons, and other accessories. It’s difficult to say whether the carrying case and the screen protector have been built with the actual Switch successor’s specifications in mind. Similarly, it’s tough to say whether the logo present on the carrying case is a mock up or an accurate representation of the actual Switch 2 logo.
Those interested in purchasing Nintendo’s next console ought to avoid picking up such accessories prior to the availability of the console’s official dimensions. As always, we encourage our readers to take all unofficial information with a grain of salt.
Recently, a user on Bilibili had shared alleged pictures of the new Nintendo Switch 2 joy-cons. The images show a view of the IR cameras, larger SL and SR buttons, and an extra button on the back that looks like a pedal. Earlier, alleged Nintendo Switch 2 prototype images had appeared on a file hosting site alongside a slide that detailed the upcoming console’s hardware specs. The pair of joy-cons seen in the prototype images appear similar to the original ones that come with the Nintendo Switch.
Based on the specs of the internal components, the prototype for Nintendo’s next-gen console features an SoC (CPU + GPU, GMLX30-R-A1), on-board memory (6GB*2 LPDDR5X, 7500 MT/s), flash memory (256 GB, 2100 MB/s), an on-board audio chip, an NFC reader, a built-in microphone, dual cooling fans paired with a copper heat sink, video signal conversion (DisplayPort to HDMI 2.1), an on-board network chip, an on-board microcontroller chip, and on-board speakers. It also features a magnetic slide rail and an 8-inch display.
