According to retailer Best Buy, the Nintendo Switch 2 will be available for pre-order on April 2, 2025, likely after the Direct presentation scheduled to happen on the same day. While Nintendo has confirmed a 2025 release window, the exact official launch date and pricing remain unannounced. However, pre-orders for the upcoming console will officially open on April 2, 2025, at Best Buy Canada, giving everyone interested a chance to secure a unit early.

Currently, the pre-order page asks those interested to sign up in order to be notified once further details are available. The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation is scheduled to go live on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 6 AM PDT. It will provide new details about the console’s capabilities, lineup of games, features, and what to expect at launch.
If Best Buy Canada’s pre-order schedule is indeed accurate, we expect Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders to go live right after the Direct presentation comes to an end. This release window was also mentioned by Robin Zhu of Sanford C. Bernstein, who predicted that the console will have a launch inventory of 6 million to 8 million units. As for details regarding pricing, the insider referred to recent estimates from market analysts, who regularly communicate with the console maker as well as its software and hardware partners.
