Nintendo Switch Firmware Update 13.1.0 Brings Expansion Pack, Changelog Here

Nintendo has released the new Switch firmware update 13.1.0 bringing a new expansion pack to the Switch online games catalog.

The new Switch firmware is releasing on the eve of the online expansion pack that will add more than a dozen games from the Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64. This will add to the existing NSO Library which contains Nintendo NES and SNES games for all NSO members.

Ver. 13.1.0 (Released October 25, 2021)

  • Added support for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.

You will need to get the expansion pack first, which will require an additional investment of $30 if you own the individual plan, or $45 if you own a Family plan.

The benefit is that you get access to a library of Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games along with the upcoming DLC for Animal Crossing New Horizons. Here’s the initial list of games available on the expansion pack.
