Nintendo has announced a Nintendo Switch Online price increase in Japan, with new subscription rates set to take effect on July 1, 2026.

The new pricing will take effect at 12:00 AM local time on July 1 and will apply to both standard Nintendo Switch Online memberships and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscriptions.

For individual Nintendo Switch Online memberships, the 1-month plan will increase from ¥306 to ¥400, the 3-month plan will rise from ¥815 to ¥1,000, and the 12-month plan will increase from ¥2,400 to ¥3,000.

The 12-month Family Plan will increase from ¥4,500 to ¥5,800.

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscriptions will also see higher prices. The 12-month Individual Plan will increase from ¥4,900 to ¥5,900, while the 12-month Family Plan will rise from ¥8,900 to ¥9,900.

Nintendo confirmed that customers with automatic renewal enabled will be charged the revised rates if their next scheduled payment date falls on or after July 1, 2026. Users who do not wish to renew at the new price can disable automatic renewal through their Nintendo Account settings.

The company also noted that subscribers can extend their memberships before expiration by purchasing additional subscription time, up to a maximum combined usage period of 1,095 days.

In a statement announcing the changes, Nintendo apologized for the increase and thanked customers for their continued support, saying it appreciated users’ understanding regarding the revised pricing.
