NVIDIA is set to launch a brand new version of its AI powered image reconstruction technology, DLSS 4, based on a new rumor.
Known hardware insider kopite7kimi took to Twitter/X to respond to a screenshot of an early retailer listing for the ASUS RTX 5080 graphics card, with NVIDIA DLSS 4 mentioned in its corresponding details, giving the first indication that the latest version of the GPU manufacturer’s image reconstruction technology will work exclusively with the upcoming RTX 50XX series.
The insider responded by stating, “DLSS4 is true”, giving further credibility to the early retailer listing and the likelihood of it being exclusive to the 50XX series. It’s currently unclear what sort of enhancements the latest iteration of the AI-powered image reconstruction technology will bring.
The NVIDIA 50XX GPU series is expected to be announced at CES 2025. GPU vendor Inno3D had recently advertised “Advanced DLSS Technology” and “Neural Rendering Capabilities” for its NVIDIA-based lineup at the forthcoming event. It was revealed via Bits and Chips that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 will cost around 1,900 US Dollars. They received this information via Chinese and Japanese journalists. As per them, OEMs will sell the GPU at an MSRP between 1899 and 1999 US Dollars. Furthermore, the overclocked versions of the graphics card, such as ROG or Windforce, will cost a lot more.
Prior to that, kopite7kimi had also shared specs for the NVIDIA RTX 5090 and the NVIDIA RTX 5080 graphics cards. Based on the leaked information, the RTX 5090 will come with a substantial amount of memory, but will also have hefty power requirements. Going by the leaked information, the NVIDIA RTX 5090 is set to be more powerful than previously expected, as the specs indicate a major leap over its predecessor, the RTX 4090. Meanwhile, the NVIDIA RTX 5080 is a less capable variant of the NVIDIA RTX 5090 chip. More recently, the insider also shared specs for the NVIDIA RTX 5070 and the NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti.
