A GameStop listing has sparked fresh speculation about the Ocarina of Time remake pre-order after it briefly displayed an August 4 date before the information was removed.
The discovery was shared by Reddit user Naive_Associate_15, who noticed the date had appeared on GameStop’s product page before it was quickly taken down. The user also claimed the retailer had changed the title of the listing, further fuelling speculation that the information may have been published ahead of schedule.
If accurate, the reported August 4 pre-order date would align with Nintendo’s recent marketing approach. Previous first-party titles, including Donkey Kong Bananza and Mario Kart World, received full trailers roughly three months before their respective launches.
Nintendo has not confirmed a pre-order date for the game, so the GameStop listing should be treated as a rumour until an official announcement is made.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake was announced in June 2026 and is scheduled to launch later this year for Nintendo Switch 2. The project is described as a complete remake rather than a remaster, featuring a new visual style and a reimagined version of the classic adventure.
