Duration & Difficulty

Fextralife stated that the action role-playing game’s campaign lasts approximately 35 to 40 hours. They also compared the difficulty in Path of Exile 2 to Soulslike games due to its challenging gameplay, lack of difficulty settings, and refusal to cater to those seeking an easy experience. The game is packed with demanding boss fights that are both punishing and rewarding to conquer, evoking the same sense of accomplishment found in titles like Dark Souls and Elden Ring. They mentioned that a fellow reviewer also likened it to the “Dark Souls of ARGPs”.

Attention To Detail

According to the content creator, Path of Exile 2’s dark-themed art direction is clearly inspired by Diablo 2, with unparalleled attention to detail in skill effects and boss designs. They termed it the best in the action role-playing game genre. They were blown away by the sheer level of detail and the most dynamic combat mechanics seen in this kind of game.

Mechanics & Map Size

Furthermore, Fextralife mentioned that the maps in the sequel to Path of Exile are astronomically large, taking around an hour to traverse from side to side, though they feel a little empty in terms of events. Even after 40 hours of gameplay, players may feel like they have only scratched the tiniest surface of the game. They said that the game delivers a great sense of discovery in terms of mechanics, builds, and lore. It offers almost limitless combinations of builds and makes it much easier to respec skills.

Controller-Friendly

The content creator also stated that Path of Exile 2 feels like a game designed with controllers in mind, offering a smoother and more intuitive experience than even Diablo 4 in this regard.
