Payday 3 Will Feature Microtransactions, Season Pass Details Revealed
Deep Silver, Overkill Software and Starbreeze Studios’ Payday 3 will feature microtransactions, based on the latest information.
According to the official FAQ for Payday 3, the game will include microtransactions, as players will be able to buy Payday Credits separately for the purchase of additional cosmetic items. The FAQ clarified, however, that these items will not give any kind of advantage during gameplay.
Payday Credits are set to be added to Payday 3 post-launch, as per the FAQ. The game will also feature a Gold and a Silver Season Pass. The Silver season pass will include the first 6 months of DLCs, which will be 2 heists, 2 tailor packs and 2 weapon packs. Meanwhile, the Gold season pass will include the first year of DLCs, which includes 4 heists, 4 tailor packs and 4 weapon packs. The FAQ mentioned that the DLC model for Payday 3 will be similar to what players are already used to in Payday 2, and, hence, they will still be able to purchase DLCs separately.
Regarding other post-launch content for Payday 3, the FAQ mentioned that the development team is looking forward to sharing more details in this regard closer to the release date. As of now, the game is said to receive 4 additional heists, 4 tailor packs and 4 weapon packs within the first year.
Payday 3 is an upcoming first-person shooter developed by Overkill Software and Starbreeze Studios, and published by Prime Matter as the third entry in the Payday series. The game is scheduled for release in 2023 and continues the story of the Payday Gang after they had seemingly left their criminal lives behind at the end of Payday 2. However, a new motivation pushes them back into the life of crime.
The game features the original crew of characters from Payday: The Heist, including “Dallas”, “Chains”, “Wolf”, and “Hoxton,” and takes place primarily in New York. Teaser images suggest that one of the missions will be at the “Gold & Sharke Incorporated” bank. Payday 3 is set in the 2020s and includes new challenges, such as more advanced surveillance and the rise of cryptocurrency, to add depth to the Payday Gang’s crimes.
