Persona 3 Remake Rumored To Be Revealed At Xbox Showcase
The often rumored remake of Sega and Atlus’ Persona 3 may be getting revealed at the upcoming Xbox showcase.
According to Reset Era member Im A Hero Too, who has shared details regarding the development of both the rumored Persona 3 remake and Persona 6 in the past, the aforementioned remake will be making its very first appearance at the Xbox showcase on June 11, 2023. This comes as rather surprising, given PlayStation’s long-running relationship with Atlus and the Persona series.
The PlayStation showcase is scheduled to happen next week on May 24, 2023, but the rumored Persona 3 remake will not be making an appearance at the event, based on what the Reset Era member said.
Previously, a mysterious domain registration that appeared to be for the Persona 3 remake suggested that the game may be close to getting an official announcement in the near future.
A domain for the web address “p3re.jp” was registered on March 15, 2023, suggesting that the rumored Persona 3 remake may be close to receiving an official announcement from Sega and Atlus. It’s interesting to note that the domain provider for this mysterious site is the same as the one for the Japanese official site for Persona 5 Royal. This can be verified by viewing the WHOIS data for both websites.
Previously, the first ever gameplay footage for the rumored Persona 3 remake had allegedly been leaked ahead of its official reveal. The footage shows the game’s turn-based combat in action. It was allegedly taken from an internal meeting held at Sega Japan in 2021. The Japanese character at the top-right of the video reads “footage in development”.
Earlier, a Reset Era member, who had leaked the arrival of Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal on Xbox Game Pass last year as well as the release of Taiko no Tatsujin on Xbox months before an official announcement, stated that the Persona 3 remake will be similar to Persona 5, both in terms of visuals and aesthetics as well as Quality of Life additions. The leaked video appears to corroborate what they had said.
