Phantom Blade Zero Gets a 5GB Day-One Patch to Fix Issues

by Salal Awan

Phantom Blade Zero will receive a day-one patch of around 5GB to improve loading times, rendering performance, and fix bugs ahead of its global launch on October 29, 2026. Developer S-GAME confirmed the update in a post published on Bilibili, alongside recommendations for PC players experiencing performance issues.

The patch will be applied automatically when players launch the game if they have already pre-downloaded it. Those downloading Phantom Blade Zero for the first time will receive a build that already includes the update.

S-GAME said it had spent considerable time optimising the game’s art pipeline and rendering performance. The developer also highlighted improvements for lower-end PC hardware, adding that the game has received further optimisation even with ray tracing enabled.

PC players using Nvidia graphics cards may need to pay attention to their driver version. According to S-GAME’s testing, Nvidia driver version 617.42 currently provides the most stable experience with Phantom Blade Zero. The developer warned that the newer 621.01 driver build has shown performance instability and recommended temporarily rolling back to version 617.42 for players experiencing frame drops or reduced performance.

S-GAME expects Nvidia to release an updated driver soon, although it hasn’t provided a specific date for that release.

Phantom Blade Zero launches worldwide for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC on October 29, 2026, with the local release date falling on October 28 in some time zones.
