Sony has released a new PS5 system software beta that enables the “Enhance PSSR Image Quality” feature by default on PS5 Pro consoles, bringing improved image quality to supported games without requiring users to manually activate the setting.
According to the official patch notes, the feature will automatically be turned on after installing the latest PS5 system software beta. Sony said that when enabled, “enhanced PSSR image quality will also be applied to games that support the previous version of PSSR, providing an even sharper and clearer visual experience.”
Players who prefer the previous implementation can disable the feature by navigating to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > Enhance PSSR Image Quality. Sony noted that the option is available exclusively on PS5 Pro.
The update also introduces changes to the “Turn Off Bluetooth” setting on PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles in certain countries and regions. Sony said that enabling the option will prevent the console from entering Rest Mode and will also disable HDMI connectivity while the setting is active.
The company emphasised that “Turn Off Bluetooth” is designed specifically for managing controller connections at esports venues and similar environments, advising users not to enable it for general use.
Alongside these additions, the new beta also includes general improvements to system software performance and stability.
