PS5 System Software Update 24.01-08.60 Brings A Surprising New Feature

Sony has rolled out a new software update for the PS5, version 24.01-08.60. This update brings in a range of new features and improvements aimed at enhancing the overall user experience for PS5 users.

One of the most notable additions in this update is the enhancement of the Parties feature. Users can now easily rejoin previous parties by accessing a list of parties they’ve joined in the past under the Parties tab. This feature simplifies the process of reconnecting with fellow players and is particularly useful for gamers who frequently interact with the same groups.

The update also brings significant updates to the PULSE Explore wireless earbuds. The earbuds now support a sound equalizer feature, which allows users to personalize their audio experience to suit their preferences.

Another notable feature for the PULSE Explore wireless earbuds is the introduction of the sidetone feature. This feature enhances voice chat experiences by allowing users to hear their own voice, thus avoiding the common issue of speaking too loudly during intense gaming sessions.

Furthermore, the update introduces a convenient connectivity feature for the PULSE Explore earbuds. A notification will appear on the PS5 when the earbuds are nearby, allowing users to connect to them quickly. This feature also facilitates easy switching of the earbuds’ connection from a PC to the PS5.

Apart from these features, the update includes improvements in system software performance and stability.

• We’ve added new features in Parties.
  • In the  Parties tab, you can now see the list of parties you’ve joined in the past. You can easily restart a party just by selecting it from the Recent list.

• We’ve updated the device software for the PULSE Explore wireless earbuds.

  • You can now use the sidetone feature, which makes it easier for you to hear your own voice in voice chats.
• When you have a PULSE Explore wireless earbuds nearby, a notification will now appear to let you connect to them quickly. You can now easily switch the connection from your PC to your PS5 through this notification.
