A recent set of leaks that came from a source in Russia and were shared to reddit has given a glimpse at some of PS5 OS features including how much free space will be left for installing games, and how much space is used by the pre-installed Astro’s Playroom.
According to the leaked images which were shared on an album on Imgur by a moderator of the PS5 subreddit, the PS5 OS has a 664 GB usable space. Astro’s Playroom is 2.4 GB so the final console will have roughly 660 GB of space to install new games. This can quickly become a problem especially with the file size of some of the launch games like Demon’s Souls and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales + Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.

For comparison, Xbox Series X comes with a 1 TB hard disk out of which 802 GB is usable in the console after taking into account the files used by the OS, which is 128 GB. If we compare it to PS5, which comes with 825 GB of usable storage, the final space is reportedly 664 GB which gives the OS a footprint of 104 GB.
