An all new V2 DualSense controller for the PS5 console has been leaked via online retailer Best Buy, and it comes with some improvements.

A new product listing for a new V2 DualSense controller for the PS5 has emerged at online retailer Best Buy. While no announcement has been made by Sony in this regard, it appears that the new version comes with some improvements over the original controller.

The product listing for Version 2 of the DualSense mentions standard features that are available on the prior version of the controller, with the exception of one. It is mentioned that the new DualSense controller will come with an “exceptional” 12-hour battery life on full charge for lengthy gaming sessions. The battery life on the prior version of the controller is around 4 to 6 hours when playing a game that takes advantage of its haptics, adaptive triggers, and the built-in speaker.

The DualSense controller builds upon the design of its predecessor, the DualShock 4, incorporating changes inspired by discussions with game designers and players. Equipped with vibrotactile haptic support from voice coil actuators in the palm grips and force feedback for the Adaptive Triggers through two DC rotary motors, the DualSense provides diverse and intuitive in-game feedback. For instance, it can simulate wind and sand in a sandstorm, or offer resistance when virtually drawing an arrow from a bow.

The controller adopts a two-tone coloring scheme (mainly white with black facing) and monochrome action buttons, a departure from the usual colored action buttons on standard PlayStation controllers. It features a larger, rounder, and heavier design compared to the DualShock 4. The light bar is now situated along the horizontal edges of the touchpad, indicating player number with an array of 5 LEDs below the touchpad. The “Share” button has been replaced with “Create,” emphasizing content creation for sharing.
