Insomniac Games’ Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is headed to PC along with brand new features for the platform.
A store page for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is now up on Steam, revealing brand new features for the PC version. Starting today, users can add the game to their wishlists in order to be notified when it will be available for pre-order.
In terms of new features, the PC version of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will offer ultra-wide support for 21:9, 32:9, and 48:9 (triple monitor support) resolutions,unlocked frame rates, ray-traced shadows in addition to the ray-traced reflections that were there in the PS5 version. Much like in the PC version of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, higher RT settings should be available for more crisp, higher-resolution ray-traced reflections.
Additionally, the PC version of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will the latest, performance-enhancing upscaling technologies, including Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, Intel XeSS and Insomniac Games’ Temporal Injection, the latter of which was used in the PS5 version. Nvidia Reflex and image quality-enhancing Nvidia DLAA are also supported in the Steam release.
Fans of the PS5’s DualSense controller need not feel left out, as the PC version of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will offer full support for haptic feedback and dynamic trigger effects. Alternatively, those who prefer to play using a mouse and keyboard can do so with a wide range of control customization options. One drawback with DualSense support, however, is that it requires a wired connection to support the full range of in-game controller features.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a 2021 third-person shooter platformer developed by Insomniac Games and originally published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 5. The game serves as a sequel to Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus from 2013, making it the series’ ninth main and sixteenth overall installment. On June 11, 2021, Rift Apart was released after being announced in June 2020.
The game shares many gameplay similarities with Ratchet & Clank (2016) and prior entries in the series. Strafing, gunplay, bolt collection, automatic health and weapon upgrades, manual Raritanium weapon upgrades, and gadgets are among the features that have been carried over from previous Ratchet & Clank games.
