Resident Evil Village received a surprise update 1.12 today that appears to have resolved an issue according to the patch notes.
Resident Evil Village received a major expansion earlier in October. This added an epilogue to the game focused on the daughter of Ethan and Mia called Shadows of Rose. It also added new content for the Mercenaries mode as well as a third-person mode for the main story.
Capcom has released a new update to the game today on all major platforms including the PC. This update addresses a specific bug that could lead to the game crashing under certain situations.

Resident Evil Village is the sequel to Resident Evil VII. It continues the story of Ethan and Mia Winters leading to the birth of their daughter. The game also stars Chris Redfield. Ethan has to search for his daughter in a remote village and castle while fending off the waves of mutated creatures that exhibit there. While the game is the eighth entry in the Resident Evil series, it was structured to be more in line with Resident Evil VII which was a first-person shooter starring a new protagonist with Ethan Winters.
The game launched to critical and commercial success becoming of the fastest-selling Resident Evil games. It was released for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. The game supports ray tracing on current-generation consoles as well as PC. It runs on the RE Engine which was previously used for Resident Evil VII.
