Riders Republic is an ambitious open-world extreme sports game and it appears to run well on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, but not on Series S.
According to a new technical analysis of the game from our friends at VGTech, we find out that the Xbox Series S renders the game at a lower than 1080p resolution. It runs at a dynamic 900p that can drop down to 720p depending on the rendering load on the screen.
Riders Republic is an impressive looking game if we take into account the huge world map and fast load times. The visuals are not that cutting-edge but they still look good and are full of colors.
In the case of PS5 and Xbox Series X, the game appears to render at 1620p with a lower bound of 1440p. This applies to both current-generation consoles. The frame rate though is 60 FPS and it is the case for the Xbox Series S as well. While you get to see a lower resolution, the frame rate is quite smooth and mostly appears to stick closer to 60 FPS.
The minimum frame rate that has been recorded on all these platforms is 50 FPS so it is not a huge drop under any circumstance. You won’t get any advantage on Xbox Series X over PS5 and vice versa. The load times are super fast on the current-generation consoles so this is the recommended way to experience the game.
The game is also available on the PS4 and Xbox One where it likely runs at 30 FPS. This might be implemented with a lower resolution as well, but in the case of Xbox Series S, it is a shame to see the console drop down to 720p.
Riders Republic is available to play now for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. It was developed and published by Ubisoft.
