The first major content update for Samson has arrived, bringing several new gameplay additions, along with stability improvements and bug fixes. The update introduces three distinct difficulty modes, expands combat presentation with a redesigned camera system, and adds new Jobs across Tyndalston.
According to the developers, this is only the beginning of broader combat and gameplay improvements planned for future updates, including a larger content release scheduled for June. While the update is fairly focused, it adds a handful of meaningful changes players have been requesting for quite some time.
New Features
Difficulty Modes
Crook
- Added a more casual-friendly difficulty mode
- Lower-level enemies appear throughout the game
- Increased Painkiller loot drops from enemies
- Players now lose only 50 percent of cash when knocked out
- Mission Retries are completely free with 0 AP cost
Hustler
- Added a difficulty mode closely matching the original game balance
- Enemy strength and loot drops remain unchanged
- Players now lose 75 percent of cash when knocked out instead of 100 percent
Enforcer
- Added a higher difficulty mode with stronger enemies
- Reduced loot drops across encounters
- Players lose 100 percent of cash when knocked out
- Mission Retries are only available in Street Trials
- Added a new Achievement for becoming debt free and completing all Chapters on Enforcer difficulty
Cash Loss and Hidden Stash Adjustments
- Hidden Stash skills now help preserve between 10 percent and 40 percent of cash after being knocked out
- Added additional Night-specific Perk support for preserving cash losses
Combat Improvements
Combat Camera Overhaul
- Added a dynamic combat camera system during larger fights
- Camera now pulls back during crowded encounters for better visibility
- Improved readability of enemy positioning and combat flow
- Enhanced the cinematic presentation of punches, dodges, takedowns, and street fights
- Continued combat responsiveness and pacing improvements are planned for future updates
New Jobs
Jack: Skulls and Crow Lanes
- Added a new Job focused on disrupting a trade deal between rival groups
- Players can track targets, interrupt the exchange, and steal the goods
Beatdown: Upstarts
- Added a new turf-focused Job against Crow Lane enemies
- Tasks players with defending territory in the Ditch
Contract: Not ACAB
- Added a new mission involving corrupt police activity and White Whisper investigations
- Players must stage a fake attack on Max Riley to maintain his cover
World Changes
Debt Collectors Expansion
- Debt collectors can now appear in additional city locations
- Collectors are no longer limited to the apartment and parking lot areas
- Players falling behind on payments may encounter them throughout Tyndalston
Stability and Bug Fixes
Technical Improvements
- Added overall stability improvements
- Improved game performance to help reduce crashes
- Fixed various unspecified bugs across the game
