Early gameplay footage from Sega’s upcoming Shinobi and its Crazy Taxi reboot has leaked on the internet.
Known insider ryanfrombronx (formerly known as Midori) took to Twitter/X to share gameplay clips from the upcoming Shinobi and Crazy Taxi reboot. He mentioned that the early developmental footage of the Crazy Taxi reboot was originally recorded in 2022 and as for Shinobi, shared footage from an early version of the opening movie alongside gameplay segments.
The Crazy Taxi reboot video shows the player in control of a Formula One car, speeding to the destination, dropping off passengers, and picking new ones. Meanwhile, footage from the Shinobi reboot shows the classic side-scrolling gameplay with fast-paced traversal and combat. The art style for both titles is in line with what fans of their respective series are familiar with.
According to the insider, the Crazy Taxi reboot will arrive on all modern platforms and the successor to the Nintendo Switch in the year 2027. He also claimed to be in possession of more gameplay footage from the game.
Last year in December, during its Management Meeting presentation for the year 2023, Sega shared details regarding its reboots of Streets of Rage Revolution, Golden Axe, Shinobi, Crazy Taxi, and Jet Set Radio. The Crazy Taxi reboot is said to offer a cheerful feeling of freedom and a fusion of nature and the city. Meanwhile, Jet Set Radio will have players experience the “rebellion” movement that feels free in a suffocating society. They will have the opportunity to make friends, increase their fans, and create a movement. The Shinobi reboot will have players run through a world full of monsters and ninjas. They’ll be able to grab Oberozuki, the legendary sword, and slay evil once more. In Golden Axe: Warriors Arise, players will defeat their enemies with a variety of attacks using swords and magic, and they will get to experience the legendary story of the battle axe. Lastly, in Streets of Rage Revolution, players will take control of one of the ex-officers and make the city a safer place to be.
