New Teaser From Silent Hill 2 Developer Bloober Team Is Not Related To A Remake

by Muhammad Ali Bari

The recently unveiled teaser from Silent Hill 2 and Cronos: The New Dawn developer Bloober Team is not related to a remake.

Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno took to LinkedIn to respond to our recent article, in which we speculated that the studio’s new teaser, containing an image of a rose, may be for a remake of Rule of Rose. In his response, he clarified that while our guess was nice, the teaser “definitely doesn’t refer to any remake”, entirely ruling out the possibility of it being Punchline’s 2006 survival horror game.

Despite the clarification, the Bloober Team CEO was further queried regarding the possibility of the project in some shape or form being associated with Rule of Rose. He clarified that it “is not in any way related to that brand“.

Furthermore, regarding the possibility of the teaser being related to a sequel to 2017’s psychological horror game, Observer, Babieno said with a smile, “I wish … But not”. Thus, we can also rule out that possibility.

This leaves little room to speculate about the project’s identity, suggesting that it may be a brand new IP like Cronos: The New Dawn. Only time will tell for sure, however. As mentioned earlier, the teaser page contains an image of a rose. It is accompanied by a timer that ends on February 14, 2026, with a possible reveal occurring on Valentine’s Day in less than two weeks. The message stated below the timer reads, “Some things never leave the walls. They only learn to wait”.

In addition to this unannounced project, Bloober Team is currently working on a remake of the 1999 original Silent Hill. The new version features a storyline focused on Harry Mason’s search for his daughter, Cheryl, in a town with an unsettling atmosphere. It was announced in June 2025 and is currently in full production, with a 2027 release window.
