Konami has confirmed that it is investigating reports of Performance Mode issues affecting the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro versions of Silent Hill 2 following the release of Patch 1.07.
In a statement shared on social media, the publisher said, “We would like to confirm that we are aware of the recent issues affecting Performance Mode on PS5 and PS5 Pro in SILENT HILL 2 following Patch 1.07. Our team is currently investigating these issues and looking into potential solutions.”
The company added, “Thank you for your patience and understanding. We’ll share more information as soon as it becomes available.”
Patch 1.07 was released to improve the game’s performance in both graphics modes while addressing several visual issues. According to the official patch notes, the update introduced enhancements to fog rendering, reduced shadow flickering and other visual glitches, minimised movement-related visual artefacts, and included broader image quality improvements.
Despite those changes, players began reporting new problems affecting Performance Mode after installing the update, prompting Konami’s latest response.
Developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami Digital Entertainment, Silent Hill 2 is a remake of the 2001 psychological horror classic. The game launched for PlayStation 5 and Windows in October 2024 before arriving on Xbox Series X/S in November 2025. Konami has not provided a timeline for a fix but says it will share further updates once more information becomes available.
