The release window for Konami and Bloober Team’s upcoming remake of Silent Hill 2 has possibly been revealed.
A discord user (via Reset Era) shared his Instagram conversation with Silent Hill 2 remake voice actor Luke Roberts, who plays the role of James Sutherland, in which he asked about the game’s release date. In response Roberts told the fan that he believes the survival horror title will arrive sometime in early 2024.
A release window of early 2024 suggests that the Silent Hill 2 remake could possibly hit store shelves between the period of January and March. It was not long ago that Bloober Team President Piotr Babieno had stated that the game’s development was almost complete, though he did also mention that a potential release date announcement depended entirely on the publisher, Konami. According to Babieno, Silent Hill 2 is technically ready. Though, he added that this did not mean the game was finished at the time. The studio was close to achieving that goal, however.
Additionally, Dusk Golem (aka AestheticGamer), who is known for his sources in the game industry, recently mentioned on Discord that he’s heard about the Silent Hill 2 remake’s release date a couple of weeks earlier, but is waiting for the details to be more concrete before he shares anything on this front. He also revealed that the remake is “100% bigger” than the original survival horror game, implying that he’s certain it will be lengthier and greater in scale/scope.
Silent Hill 2 is an upcoming survival horror video game developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami. The game serves as a remake of the 2001 classic of the same name, which was originally developed by Team Silent, a group within Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo (KCET). Following the storyline of the original game, players assume the role of James Sunderland (portrayed by Luke Roberts), a grieving widower who returns to the eerie town of Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his deceased wife, Mary. According to her letter, she awaits his arrival there. The game is set to be released for Windows and as a timed console exclusive for PS5.
