A Bloober Team writer has hinted at the existence of an Xbox Series X|S version of the Silent Hill 2 remake as well as the Born From a Wish DLC.

Grzegorz Like, lead writer on Cronos: The New Dawn, took to Twitter/X to respond to the discovery of an ESRB rating for an Xbox Series X|S version of the Silent Hill 2 remake. He said, “Heh, well whaddya know!”, indirectly confirming the imminent announcement.

A fellow Twitter/X member responded by expressing how peculiar the situation is. They wondered if the Xbox version of the Silent Hill 2 remake will come with Born From A Wish, much like the original game did on the first Xbox console. Like replied by asking, “Born from what?”, adding further fuel to the fire.

Last month, the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) officially rated the game for Microsoft’s current-generation consoles, suggesting that the timed exclusivity period for PlayStation 5 is nearing its conclusion and that an official release date announcement may be imminent. According to the listing, Silent Hill 2 has been classified as Mature 17+ for Blood and Gore, Sexual Themes, Strong Language, and Violence, consistent with the PlayStation 5 and PC versions previously released. The description outlines the game’s mature content, including disturbing imagery, combat violence, and thematic references to trauma and sexual misconduct—elements that have long defined the series’ psychological horror identity.

Released to critical and commercial success, Silent Hill 2 Remake is a modern reinterpretation of the psychological horror classic developed by Team Silent and originally released in 2001. Bloober Team’s version reimagines the story of James Sunderland, a grief-stricken man drawn to the eerie fog-shrouded town of Silent Hill after receiving a mysterious letter from his deceased wife. Under the direction of Mateusz Lenart, the remake features rebuilt environments using Unreal Engine 5, an over-the-shoulder camera system, and re-recorded performances—all while retaining the haunting atmosphere that defined the original. Series veterans Masahiro Ito (creature designer) and Akira Yamaoka (composer) returned to ensure the remake remained faithful to its legacy.
