A brand new trailer as well as the release date for Silent Hill and Siren creator’s Slitterhead has been leaked ahead of the official reveal.
The new trailer shows off brand new gameplay gameplay trailer for Keiichiro Toyama’s upcoming survival horror game. Towards the end of the video, a release date for Slitterhead along with the platforms the game will be available have also been revealed. It appears that developer Bokeh Game Studio accidentally made the YouTube video public, as the trailer is no longer officially available for viewing.
Slitterhead Gameplay Trailer Leaked
Before it was taken down, the leaked gameplay trailer for Slitterhead was re-uploaded by a fan. The video can be seen below,
The trailer shows some hand-to-hand and weapon-based combat as well a supernatural abilities that players can use to take down grotesque looking creatures. There also appears to be some sort of soul transfer mechanic, allowing the player to assume control of a series of characters one-by-one in order to get through narrow situations.
Slitterhead Release Date & Platforms Revealed
Slitterhead is set for release on November 8, 2024, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, confirming that it is a cross-gen title.
For the uninitiated, the Tokyo-based Bokeh Game Studio Inc. was founded by Keiichiro Toyama after he left Sony Interactive Entertainment. Slitterhead, the studio’s first game, was announced at The Game Awards 2021.
Before Project Siren was about to disband, Toyama met with colleagues Sato Kazunobu and Junya Okura, who had collaborated with him on the Silent Hill series, the Siren series, and Gravity Rush, to discuss starting an independent studio. Following months of negotiations, they established the company in August, 2020 and announced it in December, 2020. Toyama became CEO/Creative Director, Okura the CTO/Game Director, and Sato the COO/Producer. In February 2020, Toyama announced on Bokeh Game Studio’s YouTube channel that their first project would be a survival horror game, marking his return to the genre after over a decade. Producer Sato mentioned that the gameplay would involve players making difficult and “nasty” sacrifices.
