Bandai Namco Entertainment has launched a new crossover DLC for PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC, bringing in Sega’s iconic mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog. This partnership features new Sonic-themed levels, outfits, and collectible figures for the revamped platformer, which is now available on all major platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
The Sonic the Hedgehog Collaboration DLC introduces three new levels that mix PAC-MAN’s classic platforming with the speed and momentum of Sonic’s world. Players get to rail-grind, jump through 360-degree shuttle loops, and dash across environments inspired by the famous “Green Hill Zone.” These stages also include familiar enemies from the Sonic series, such as Buzz Bomber and Moto Bug, along with well-known gameplay elements like springs and dash rings.
The expansion ends with a boss battle against Dr. Eggman, described as a high-speed confrontation that combines the visual style of both series. Each level was designed to keep the look of Sonic’s world while making sure to include PAC-MAN’s typical collectible-focused gameplay, creating a combined experience that pays tribute to both legacies.
In addition to the new stages, the DLC adds 20 collectible figures based on characters from the Sonic series, including fan favorites like Shadow the Hedgehog and Tails. Players can also unlock a special Sonic outfit for PAC-MAN, letting him wear the blue blur’s well-known look, plus the “Legendary Pac-Land” outfit as an extra bonus.
The PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC: Digital Deluxe Edition comes with the main game and everything from the Sonic collaboration. For players who already own the base game, the Sonic Collaboration DLC can be bought separately.
PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC is part of Bandai Namco’s effort to update its classic games for today’s players. Originally released in the early 2000s, the game was relaunched as part of the Re-PAC line with better graphics, smoother controls, and improved performance. Adding crossover content with Sonic — another long-lasting mascot from the same gaming era — further highlights the nostalgic appeal of both franchises.
