State Of Play Possibly Set For June 30, Focus On GOW Ragnarok And Third-Party Games

PlayStation may be hosting a State of Play event on June 30 that focuses on God of War Ragnarok and and a lineup of third-party game. A release date for Kratos’ next outing has yet to be announced, and this could be the the place where it finally happens.

There has been much speculation regarding the release date of GOW Ragnarok. Certain rumors indicated that it may get pushed to 2023, while others re-affirmed a late 2022 release. The now well-known Twitter user The Snitch has once again returned with his cryptic tweets, and this time he’s hinting at something in relation to the God of War series.

His tweet includes a gif animation of Kratos nodding in approval, with the numbers 1-1-1-1-1-0 appearing in sequence at the bottom of the image. While these numbers could mean a lot of things, they appear to be binary digits. When converted to decimal, they translate to the number 30.

It would appear that The Snitch is hinting at something GOW related happening on the 30th of June, and, given how Sony makes announcements these days, it’s likely to take place during a State of Play event. The Snitch has had a great track record with leaks thus far, and, if this is indeed what they’re hinting at, Sony is likely to host a State of Play on June 30.

In addition to The Snitch’s cryptic hint, there are other traces of evidence that hint at the possibility of a State of Play event later this month. For instance, the official Star Ocean Twitter handle reminded fans last month that Star Ocean: The Divine Force was scheduled to be released in the spring of 2022, but had to be delayed due certain constraints. It also stated that Square Enix is currently preparing for an announcement with new information in late June.

The aforementioned announcement for Star Ocean 6 may in fact occur at State of Play on June 30. While we expect most of the event to be focused on God of War Ragnarok, there will most likely be a slot for a handful of announcements related to forthcoming 3rd-party titles.

Stay tuned for further information regarding a possible State of Play on June 30.
