SHIFT UP has officially announced Stellar Blade: BLOOD RAIN, the next installment in the studio’s action-adventure franchise. The game was revealed during Summer Game Fest with a debut trailer showcasing in-game footage captured on PC.
According to SHIFT UP, BLOOD RAIN will continue the storyline following the events of the original Stellar Blade while introducing a new lead character named Evie. The reveal trailer offered an early glimpse at the sequel’s world and action-focused gameplay, though the developer noted that the footage was taken from a version of the game still in development and remains subject to change.
The original Stellar Blade established itself as a notable entry in the character-action genre, combining fast-paced melee combat with exploration and customization systems. Players took control of Eve, a member of the 7th Airborne Squad sent to a devastated Earth to battle the mysterious Naytiba and help reclaim the planet.
While SHIFT UP has yet to share extensive gameplay details for BLOOD RAIN, the reveal confirms that the franchise will move beyond the events of the first game and shift its focus to a new protagonist.
